On March 7, Ricardo Alberto Antequera H, managing partner of Antequera Parilli & Rodríguez and María Alejandra Castillo, director of the trademark department, participated as speakers in the Legal Committee of the Venezuelan-German Chamber.

In their presentation entitled ‘Intellectual Property in Venezuela: Threats without opportunities for foreign investment?’ Ricardo Alberto and María Alejandra, made a brief review of the basic concepts of Intellectual Property, to then discuss how over 18 years the different regulatory, legislative and institutional changes have left Venezuela at a disadvantage compared to the rest of the world, with regard to the contribution of this field of law to the world economies.

Finally, they reflected on the adequate protection of intangibles in order to minimize risks in the face of possible changes in the market and to have the necessary tools to maintain competitiveness levels that favor domestic and foreign investment.
